Through traditional methods including acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, exercise and nutritional counseling, I can help you to raise your level of health to a wonderful level and enjoy life more fully.

Some common problems that can be treated include:

headaches, insomnia, depression, common cold, digestive disorders, weak immune function, skin problems, infertility, menstrual disorders, menopause, hepatitis, HIV, cancer, pain, injury, pediatric disorders

I hold a Masters Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and I am extensively trained in the use of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Utilizing traditional diagnostic methods such as interviewing thepatient, feeling the pulses on the wrist, and inspecting the tongue, I am able to assess a patient's health and formulate a treatment plan. The treatment may include one or more of the following; acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, tui na massage, electro-stimulation, topical herbal preparations, physical exercises or stretches, herbal remedies, and/or dietary counseling. Some of these modalities are explained below:

Acupuncture is the insertion of one or more hair-thin needles into the body. The process is often painless, or nearly so, and generally very relaxing. Usually the needles are retained for at least 15 to 20 minutes while the patient relaxes on a massage table.

Auricular acupuncture utilizes the multitude of points found on the surface of the ears. It is a French system, adapted by the Chinese, and can be very helpful both as part of a regular acupuncture treatment or on its own. Because the points are on the ear, the patient can easily be sitting up in a chair, enjoying a cup of tea and conversation, or just relaxing. This makes auricular acupuncture a great way to be treated in a group setting and this can be a fun and effective introduction to acupuncture.

Moxabustion is the burning of mugwort incense near the body to warm and stimulate specific acupuncture points. It can be used to warm and relax tight muscles, increase circulation, soften scar tissue, strengthen immunity, or benefit organs. It is very soothing and completely painless.

Cupping involves using glass suction-cups on the skin to relieve muscle tightness or release toxins. The cups may be left in one spot, or, when used with massage oil, slid along the skin as a type of massage.

Tui Na is a style of Chinese massage specifically designed to treat injury. It involves movement of the joints as well as muscle massage, and can greatly increase range of motion and decrease pain.

Electro-stimulation is the connecting of a small tens-unit to the acupuncture needles, allowing for a micro-current to move from one needle to another. It is tingly, but soothing, and mild. It is very effective for increasing mobility and range of motion, and for decreasing pain.
